The following is a selection of questions artists may wish
to know when considering joining the IATTDA:
More information and artists questions about membership is also contained within the BENEFITS section.
What is the association?
The International Association of Two and Three Dimensional Art (IATTDA) is a group of like-minded artists which supports, encourages and promotes artists who practice in the areas of two and three dimensional arts in any media.
Why was the association setup?
Throughout the UK I, Laura, found that there were local circles, an acrylic association and other associations such as the Water Colour Society who exhibit at the Mall Galleries. There was no association which welcomes artists who practice in many media. Because of these factors I felt it would be an exciting and new concept to involve artists of both two and three dimensional disciplines. Laura is a multimedia artist, having explored painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, installation concepts, film and photography within her work. It is difficult to find a group, such as the IATTDA, who embraces and nurtures such variety and passions. This was an additional motivation to setup the IATTDA.
The founder, Laura Elliott, also brought in two other artists (Freshie and Roberta Redemer) who practice within graphics and painting, to create a diverse panel who would assist in the running and decisions required for the IATTDA and the artists who join or contact us. We want to seek out and unite different artists in a fusion of two and three dimensional art.
Question: "I'd just like to know if there is a kind of art you feel you would be naturally biased towards?"
Answer by Laura Elliott (founder and panel member): I, Laura Elliott, am a multimedia artist myself and I do not impose my taste/ preferences/ ideals onto artwork and artists in life in general, especially in the IATTDA. I have a very curious and personal way of working within my artwork. I do create and sell landscapes as it allows me a break from my deep and personal explorations I have recently been undertaking. I feel that artwork is an experience and a window into others worlds, ideas and energy. I am passionate about non-conventional artwork and have a really open mind. I do appreciate and respect conventional or traditional art, but I also embrace new ideas and thoughts, especially those who push the boundaries. I welcome artists to bring a new energy into the IATTDA as do the other panel members.
How much will exhibitions and fairs cost?
This is a difficult question to specify as exhibitions costs vary from gallery to gallery and when it is reserved/ hired for an exhibition.
Exhibitions vary greatly in cost and is dependent on: the location, cost to hire the gallery for the period available, promotion and advertising, and curating the exhibition. However, the IATTDA aim to make exhibitions as affordable as possible for artists enabling artists to exhibit at locations they may not be available to them otherwise or individually. Such galleries could be located in high end locations such as central London, UK, New York, U.S.A, Art Fairs, and other similar locations. We always aim to keep all IATTDA exhibitions affordable, sharing the costs by allocating spaces for each artist.
What will be done with any details I supply during the membership/ exhibition applications?

Is artwork or prints for sale online?
